The 12th annual running of the Easter Bunny Express will depart from our Connersville Grand Central Station and make 4 round trips south to the Easter Bunny Patch 2 miles away. Don't forget your Basket. Come and meet the Easter Bunny and hunt for his Golden Egg. The egg hunt is open to ages 8 and under. Reservations are recommended. Prices are $9.00/person 2 and up. Amtrak Baseball Special - April 20 & 21, 2012 Indianapolis to Chicago
Reds vs. Cubs at Historic Wrigley Field
We’re Going To Chicago!!!
The Whitewater Valley Railroad is sponsoring a Baseball Special to witness the Reds vs. The Cubs at the Historic Wrigley Field on April 20, 2012. This trip will consist of two privately owned lounge cars and one privately owned dome car. We will depart on the rear of Amtrak's Hoosier State from Indianapolis Union Station at 6:00AM on the morning of April 20th. After arriving in Chicago Union Station we will proceed to Historic Wrigley Field for the ball game which will include $20 in Cubby Dollars to provide lunch. Overnight accommodations will be included with breakfast on Saturday morning. After breakfast we will proceed downtown for a day at the Museum of Science and Industry with a box lunch to be provided as well as admission to see the German U505 Submarine that is also on display. We will then proceed to Chicago Union Station for our 5:45PM departure back to Indianapolis with a scheduled arrival at 11:50PM.
There will be two classes of service available for this special Amtrak excursion. First Class is available for $475 per person based on double occupancy. Premium Dome Class will also be available for $500 per person based on double occupancy. Both class of service will include on board breakfast service en route to Chicago on April 20th and on board dinner service en route to Indianapolis on April 21st.

This is a special running of our Connersville to Metamora excursion departing every Thursday and Friday in the month of May. Enjoy a scenic train ride though the Whitewater Valley on the Valley Flyer excursion. Relax as you travel back in time to the historic town of Metamora. Visit the working grist mill, restored canal and lock, operating replica horse drawn canal boat, historic covered aqueduct, and over 100 shops and restaurants during the 2 hour layover before your return trip to Connersville. The train departs Connersville at 10:00am. The price is the same as the Valley Flyer service.

Come and see Bandits, Marshals, Robber Barons, Fancy and some Not So Fancy Women as you roll through the scenic countryside. The wild west entertainment is being provided by the Circle D Rangers. This steam powered excursion will depart at 6PM from Historic Downtown Metamora. Fares are $55 per person and includes the round trip train ride, the meal, tax and tip. Full steam ahead! Steam In The Valley returns May 12, 2012 for two weekends. Lehigh Valley Coal Company #126 will make its Whitewater Valley debut. One hour train rides along the Whitewater River and remnants of the Whitewater Canal will operate at 10am, 12pm, 2pm, & 4pm from Historic Metamora Indiana. Prices are $15 per person ages 2 and up.
May 12, 2012 – National Train Day – Lehigh Valley Coal #126 will operate trains with President Abraham Lincoln on board.
May 13, 2012 – Mother’s Day – Musical Entertainment on board.
May 19 & 20, 2012 – Four trip daily to the Laurel Feeder Dam and return.

Metamora Towpath 10K Dash and Fun Run Local – May 19, 2012
A special 8am running of our Metamora Local in Historic Downtown Metamora. The train will follow along a portion of the 2nd annual Whitewater Canal 10k Towpath Dash and Fun Run. This will be a special thrill for runners and walkers at all ability levels. Don't wait - the race field is limited to the first 500 entrants. The Whitewater Valley Railroad will be providing train service for families, friends and observers to take pictures of the racers and to experience the “dash” in action. Your train ticket includes round trip train service, a hay ride to and from the patch, and a pumpkin for each child 12 and under.. Trains depart at 10:01, 12:30, 2:30 and 4:30. Board the train at Grand Central Station in Connersville to pick up Santa Claus along the way. Once on board Santa will come and visit with each child on the train. Train departs at 10am, 12pm and 2pm. Tickets are $7 ages 2 and up.
