Fall Colors Flyer

Experience the vibrant autumn scenery of southeastern Indiana aboard the Fall Colors Flyer, a scenic excursion hosted jointly by the Whitewater Valley Railroad and the Madison Railroad.

Departing from Stellar Plaza in downtown North Vernon, Indiana on Sunday, October 25, 2026 (departures at 12:01 PM and 2:01 PM), this 75-minute journey travels along a historic rail line originally established in 1843. Ride through picturesque Jennings and Jefferson counties on trackage once operated by the Pennsylvania Railroad and now preserved by the City of Madison Port Authority.

The Fall Colors Flyer offers a variety of ticket classes to accommodate every travel style and group size:

• Baggage Car – Solarium Seating ($50 per seat): Comfortable seats with expansive views from the solarium section of the car.
• Baggage Car – Rolling Museum / Standing Class ($35 per person): A unique experience in a baggage car converted into a rolling museum of railroad history (seating and views are limited).
• Coach Class ($25 per seat): Classic coach seating ideal for taking in the vibrant fall foliage.
• Caboose Rental ($500): An exclusive option for large groups of up to 20 passengers seeking a private charter experience away from general seating.
